From October 14th to October 20th, Sunwoda's holding subsidiary, Sunwoda Power, showcased its core products at the Paris Motor Show. Additionally, on October 18th, Sunwoda's production and manufacturing base in Hungary held a foundation ceremony.

Since 2018, when Sunwoda began supplying HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) batteries to French Renault, the Dacia Spring model, which features this product, has been a great success in Europe, receiving over 40,000 orders in just eight months and becoming the best-selling electric vehicle in Italy and the second-best-selling electric vehicle in France. Currently, hybrid batteries have become Sunwoda Power's flagship product. From 2021 to 2023, the company has ranked first in China's hybrid battery installation for three consecutive years, making it the largest hybrid battery manufacturer in China. In addition to French Renault, the company has established cooperative relationships with high-end car manufacturers such as German Volkswagen, ranking in the Top 3 of global high-end car installations.

Moreover, due to the unique advantages of PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) in alleviating range anxiety and reducing fuel consumption, Sunwoda's PHEV batteries are currently favored by the European market.

It is worth mentioning that in 2024, Sunwoda Power also made a global debut of the 6C flash charging battery 3.0 at this auto show, which can charge to 80% SOC in just 10 minutes, greatly alleviating users' charging anxiety and suitable for pure electric vehicles. The flash charging battery 1.0 was released in 2022, and after several iterations, it has reached an industry-leading level.

During the exhibition, Sunwoda also showcased its solid-state battery products. It is reported that Sunwoda Power's first-generation semi-solid-state battery has been developed, the second-generation semi-solid-state battery energy cell samples have begun pilot trials; the third-generation polymer composite all-solid-state battery has completed laboratory verification and is expected to complete product development by 2025; the fourth-generation all-solid-state battery is still under development, with the laboratory sample expected to be completed by 2027, and the progress is currently smooth.

Solid-State Batteries

In addition to the power battery product line, as one of the domestic enterprises with the most and most complete energy storage application cases, Sunwoda Power exhibited high-performance, high-safety, and more stable 72Ah, 102Ah, 280Ah, 314Ah, 625Ah energy storage cells. According to industry statistics, in the first half of 2024, Sunwoda Power's global and Chinese shipments of lithium iron phosphate energy storage cells both ranked in the top ten.

Sunwoda's automotive electronics business showcased a solution that integrates BMS, domain controllers, on-board power (small three electricity), BDU, and car-cloud integration into a diversified product range. In the future, the company will continue to develop HPC high-performance computing units and other controllers for the entire vehicle.

Sunwoda is also committed to promoting the local electrification transformation in Europe through the localization of lithium battery production in Europe. On October 18th, Sunwoda Power held a foundation ceremony at its production and manufacturing base in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, marking the official start of construction of the Hungarian base, which is expected to start production by the end of 2026.

Sunwoda founder Wang Mingwang states that the showcased products at the Paris Motor Show confirms the leading technology, advanced manufacturing, high quality, reliable delivery and key account service capabilities of Sunwoda. In future, the company will rely on nearly thirty years of lithium battery experience, as well as the localization service advantages of the Hungarian base, to continue to serve European customers with first-class solutions.
