Recently, according to official media including Xinhua News Agency, China's first all solid-state lithium battery line has officially started mass production. This production line, invested and constructed in the Guodian Investment New Energy Industrial Park in Lankao County, Henan Province by Beijing LiPURE Energy Technology Co., Ltd., marks a new phase in the mass production of the company's 50 Ah all solid-state batteries.

Zhou Linlu, Deputy General Manager of LiPURE Energy, said, "To address the safety challenges in energy storage, we have independently developed all solid-state lithium batteries, primarily by transforming the liquid electrolyte inside lithium-ion batteries into a solid-state electrolyte. This solves the problem of traditional lithium-ion batteries being prone to combustion and explosion, offering advantages of safety, high efficiency, long life, and low cost, applicable in energy storage, two-wheeler battery fields, and more."

LiPURE Energy has developed a new material of organic-inorganic hybrid solid-state electrolyte, thereby creating solid-state cells that fundamentally replace the traditional lithium-ion batteries' mediums prone to thermal runaway, such as electrolyte and separator. The solid-state cells can operate normally and safely under high temperatures close to 100 degrees Celsius and will not catch fire even at 300 degrees Celsius, having passed the certification of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS).

In the process of transforming innovative results from the laboratory to industrialization, LiPURE Energy first completed a small batch of pilot production in Yizhuang, Beijing. Zhou Linlu added, "By building a pilot production line and gradually debugging, we have broken through the production process of solid-state cells, solving industry technical challenges such as the large-scale preparation of solid-state electrolytes and the stability of the interface contact between solid-state electrolytes and electrodes. We have reduced costs, enabling mass production of the product."

Currently, the mass production line built by LiPURE Energy in Lankao County is equipped with an advanced dust-free solid-state lithium battery pilot production workshop and R&D laboratory, featuring several top-tier international devices for the study of solid-state lithium batteries and battery device performance. The company has mastered the manufacturing process for solid-state batteries ranging from 5-50Ah, with an annual production capacity of 200MWh, equivalent to charging 200,000 two-wheelers simultaneously, and is capable of producing thousands of solid-state lithium batteries per day once fully operational.

The company has established close cooperative relationships with several large enterprises, and leading two-wheeler electric vehicle companies to jointly promote the commercial application of all solid-state battery technology.

Founded in 2022, LiPURE Energy focuses on the research and development and manufacturing of solid-state batteries. Headquartered in the Yizhuang Development Area of Beijing, the company completed its Series A+ round in 2023 and focuses on two major business areas: energy storage system and electric vehicle batteries.
