At the Huawei Mate XT triple-fold smartphone launch event on September 10th, Huawei also unveiled the revised large five-seater version of the AITO M9, as well as its first smart luxury coupe SUV, the LUXEED R7.

During the launch event, Yu Chengdong, Chairman of Huawei's Intelligent Automotive Solution Business Unit, stated that the AITO has achieved over 130,000 cumulative orders in just over 8 months since its market launch, and has been the sales champion for models priced over 500,000 yuan in the Chinese market for five consecutive months.

Compared to the previously released six-seater version, the new five-seater AITO has eliminated the third row of seats and has seen upgrades in both smart features and hardware. It also debuts the Owl Enhanced Steering Technology, with a vehicle length of 5.23 meters and a turning radius of only 5.8 meters.

According to Huawei's statistics, as of August 2024, the monthly additional smart driving mileage of HUAWEI ADS, Huawei's Qian Kun smart drive system, had exceeded 200 million kilometers. The AITO and all HIMA (Harmony lntelligent Mobility Alliance) models including AITO, LUXEED, STELATO as well as the coming MAEXTRO, will all start to receive the upgraded high-level smart driving system HUAWEI ADS 3.0.

The HUAWEI ADS 3.0 is reported to be deeply integrated with AR-HUD, offering a comprehensive upgrade in user interaction for smart driving scenarios. It adds features such as traffic light countdown reading, turn signals, omni-directional safety warnings, lane change obstruction, lane change confirmation, and deceleration motion effects. For human driving scenarios, it introduces a lateral blind spot real scene function, where AR-HUD can display a 37-inch lateral blind spot real scene video during turns and lane changes, and the parking capabilities have also been further upgraded.

The large five-seater AITO M9 comes in three versions, including the Max Extended Range version starting at 469,800 yuan, the Ultra Extended Range version starting at 529,800 yuan, and the Ultra Pure Electric version starting at 569,800 yuan. The launch of the five-seater AITO is expected to further consolidate its dominant position in the SUV market above 500,000 yuan.

In addition, the LUXEED R7, the first pure electric coupe SUV jointly created by Huawei HIMA and Chery, was also showcased at the event.

The LUXEED R7 is equipped with an 800V high-voltage platform, offering a maximum range of over 800 kilometers. Designed specifically for young people and young families, it is set to surpass the specifications and performance of the Model X, with a target to compete with the Model Y. The Model Y has been the delivery leader for passenger cars in China from January to August 2024, with a cumulative delivery volume exceeding 354,000 units. The LUXEED R7 is now accepting pre-orders with a pre-sale price starting at 268,000 yuan and is expected to be officially launched in October.
